What is Early Music?

The term “early music” refers to a repertory—music written before about 1800, including medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, and the transition into early classical music—and also to an approach to performance—“historically informed performance,” which includes the use of period instruments.

Mission Statement

Arizona Early Music seeks to enrich, educate, and engage Southern Arizona audiences by presenting music of the past through the lens of historically informed performance.

Vision Statement

To strengthen and expand the community of those who share the joy of early music.
