“Kiya Tabassian on setar was prolific, and thrilling…”—New York Classical Review
Nordic Lights
Benedicte Maurseth—champion of the Hardanger fiddle—joins Constantinople for a program celebrating the beauty of nature and a borderless musical world. Blending musical traditions from the Hardanger region of Norway and Persia, Nordic Lights features selections of historical and folk music performed by a trio of Hardanger fiddle, Persian setar, and percussion.
Ensemble Constantinople
Inspired by the ancient city bridging East and West, Constantinople was founded in 2001 in Montreal by its artistic director, Kiya Tabassian. Since its founding, the ensemble has produced 25 albums, created 63 pieces of music, and travelled to more than 296 cities in 59 countries.
