Bõhm – Suite in D minor
Biber – Sonata No. 15 in D major, "The Assumption of the Virgin," from the Mystery Sonatas

Bach – Sonata in E major for violin and harpsichord

Trio Sonnerie, Monica Huggett's most endearing and enduring ensemble, presents the choicest selections of Europe's chamber music from the Baroque era. Biber's astonishing Mystery Sonatas for virtuoso violin contrast with exquisitely refined French music for the viola da gamba and sprightly tunes from Jacobean England. The Harmony of Nations would not be complete, of course, without J.S. Bach, here represented by a magnificent sonata for violin and harpsichord. Ensemble members are Monica Huggett, Director (violin); Emilia Benjamin, (viola da gamba); and James Johnstone, (harpsichord).
Their CD release Music for a Young Prince won a Diapason d'Or in 2009.

"Spectacular, exuberant, colorful and downright ravishing."
