Ensemble Caprice is one of the world's finest Early Music performing groups, currently based in Montreal but with a truly international composition. Critics everywhere have echoed the enthusiasm with which the audience greeted their last Tucson appearance in 2007. This unique program features pieces from the Uhrovska zbierka, the 1730 collection of gypsy melodies from present-day Slovakia, and works by composers who were influenced by the gypsy music they heard while travelling throughout Europe, including Schmelzer's ballet The Beautiful Gypsy Girl, Telemann's Polonaises, Falconieri's La Follia, and Vivaldi' "La Follia" Trio Sonata. Plus...tambourines!

“The ensemble has established itself as an immensely thoughtful and progressive force on the musical scene.”
